# Claude API

### How to Obtain a Claude API Key <a href="#how-to-obtain-an-claude-api-key" id="how-to-obtain-an-claude-api-key"></a>

1. If you do not already possess an Anthropic account, please visit the [Anthropic console](https://console.anthropic.com/) and create one.
2. Once your account is active, create your API key in the [API Keys](https://console.anthropic.com/settings/keys) section of your account.

Please note that Evaluation trial plans have a low request limit of only 5 requests per minute. To increase your request capacity, upgrade to the Build plan, which offers a significantly higher rate limit and allows you to add funds to your balance.
